OpenCutList 3.0.2 is out!

OpenCutList version 3.0.2 has just been accepted and signed by Trimble. It is available now at the Extension Warehouse and on github. The signed extension can simply be updated from the Update button, but remember to restart SketchUp!
This release contains just a few annoying bug fixes, as well as a new label size 8.

Wat Ed eigenlijk vraagt is: of er een mogelijkheid gaat zijn dat in de plaats van alleen één standaard plaatformaat aan te kunnen geven, je meerdere plaatformaten tegelijk aan kan gaan geven?
Sommige plaatmaterialen zijn niet alleen in één maat verkrijgbaar maar in meerdere en dan zou het ontzettend handig zijn wanneer je dit in het programma kan aangeven, dat het programma bepaald wat je uit welke plaat je het beste kan halen.

Zelf zie ik wel wat in voor de mogelijkheid om aan te kunnen geven welke delen (met nerfrichting) je uit dezelfde plaat gehaald wilt hebben. Hierbij denk ik dan ook dat het goed is om aan te kunnen geven of ze langs op kops bij elkaar horen.
Ook een van mijn vragen/ideeën is de mogelijkheid om een labelprinter te kunnen gebruiken voor de stikkers in de plaats van A4 vel met stikkers.

Hi Ed, Merlijn,
- I understand your question/request. But it is very challenging from an algorithmic viewpoint to select the best sheet from several options. In general cutting diagrams tend to be better when the sheet is larger. To be able to select the best cutting diagram, given a list of possible sheet sizes, would make the program much more difficult to configure. The user would have to specify what he means by "better". You can always try several different sheet sizes and select the one that seems to be best for you. I will do that for 3-ply sheets that come in 5000 mm x 2050 mm or 5000 mm x 1250 mm. I generally prefer the smaller one, because of the handling, but sometimes 2 smaller sheets gives me worse results than 1 large sheet. But remember this is very project dependent, there is no "always best solution".
- To be able to place parts with a continuous grain, like drawer fronts on a birch multiplex panel, would be a very nice feature. We have been thinking about this. This problem would be quite easy to solve by the cutting algorithm, but it is quite challenging to build a nice interface for configuring it. How do you connect the two parts? side by side, top down, what if you want more than two parts? maybe 2 side by side on top of two more, ... Once the parts are connected, make it a large one and send it to the cutting diagram algorithm, that would be the easy part. If somebody has a good idea for the interface part, we are open for suggestions!
- Label printers work out of the box. Simply configure the page size to be the label size and send to printer. I have tested and use it on a Zebra printer. The Dymo printer seems to work as well.
