OpenCutList 7.0: Call for Translators
Published on June 23, 2025 by Martin Mueller
We are slowly getting there! OpenCutList 7.0 needs to be translated into the languages that were supported in version 6.4.
While some languages have been completely translated like German, English, Portuguese, Ukrainian, Arabic, Czech and Russian or are very near completion like Italian and Polish, we are still working on Spanish, Dutch, Vietnamese, Chinese, Hungarian and Hebrew.
While we cannot add another language to version 7.0, we would love to be able to complete the missing languages above.
We are extremely grateful to the translators who have worked tirelessly for many years without pay.
Are you crazy enough to help others for free? Join us on Transifex to help us complete or improve the translations.
If you appreciate the fact that OpenCutList is being available in your language, please tell us!
Happy woodworking!

Thanks for your replies. I think I should add some information about the translation process.

- the source language is french and it gets translated into english/german by the OCL team.
- we do not distinguish between variants of a language, therefore we support portuguese, spanish, english, not british english, american english, australian english, .... Even though there are quite a few differences, we cannot support for example spanish in all of its variants.
- it takes a lot of time and very special knowledge to translate OCL, therefore we are dependent on woodworkers, designers, ... who understand the vocabulary of the trade. Automatic translation just does not work, when it is not reviewed by a human.
- we would like to support new languages. Those supported by SketchUp natively will be given top priority.
- some languages are used a lot (spanish, english, portuguese), while others only have a small community of users.
- we are entirely dependent on the longtime effort of the translation team and the feedback of the users.
Yes, you can make OCL an even better tool!
