About
LeanBitLab began with a simple frustration: modern mobile software has become bloated, ad-riddled, and surveillance-heavy. As a user, I wanted tools that respect my device's battery, my privacy, and my time. As a developer, I decided to build them myself.
Today, LeanBitLab is an open-source ecosystem of lean, ad-free, and tracker-free Android and Linux utilities , LtvLauncher is a minimal Android TV launcher featuring a WiFi data-usage widget and an OLED-friendly screensaver. The ecosystem also includes LeanType (privacy-focused keyboard), Lwidget (lightweight home-screen widgets), RdTube (clean video UI for Reddit), and adaptive-brightness-linux.
Our philosophy is simple: "Everything you need. Nothing you don't." Every app is free of ads, free of analytics and trackers, and engineered to be as lightweight as possible.
Why we need support:
Maintaining open-source software is continuous work — Android SDK compatibility updates, security patches, bug fixes, release management, CI/CD infrastructure, and user support. Donations through this Collective will fund:
- Maintainer development time
- Android SDK and OS compatibility work
- Infrastructure (domains, hosting, CI minutes)
- Development and testing devices
All expenses are submitted publicly and transparently through Open Collective. By supporting LeanBitLab, you directly fund software that respects users — no ads, no trackers, no bloat.
