Hi everyone! We hope you are finding some rest and restoration in these winter months and wanted to share what Lemonaid has accomplished in the last year. We've changed a lot since this time last year as we partnered with different organizations to try and find our footing, and I am proud of the work we've done along the way! First, our original team moved on to new cities and new opportunities, and left us a strong legacy of working together to make sure our unhoused neighbors were fed and supported. Then, we teamed up with YDSA where we were able to bring a lot of new faces to our work and provide quick support for our neighbors at Willow St during their mass eviction. Finally, we partnered with Open Collective to bring transparency to our finances, and have been doing great things with them since August! Since August we have successfully raised over $2300 and dispersed almost all of that back to the community in the form of hot, complete meals and cash grants for things like medication and apartment deposits with our Lemonaid Direct program. We are really proud of the work we have done this year, and expect it to continue until all of our neighbors are housed and safe. Wishing you a warm and care-filled 2023!
