Looking Back on 2021
Published on December 31, 2021 by Mark Buhrmester
The Love Wins Food Pantry accomplished so much in 2021 with the help of volunteers, donors, partner organizations and a supportive community.
- Facilitated 71 volunteer-led food distribution events, including 32 in partnership with Colectivo Intercultural TRANSgrediendo (CITG). Consider supporting CITG with a donation.
- Distributed about 157 tons of food to our neighbors, plus about $6000 in grocery store gift cards.
- Supported the 89th Street Tenants Association in the aftermath of their life-altering fire by helping coordinate urgently-needed resources, advocate with elected officials, and fundraise over $360,000.
- Gathered and distributed hundreds of holiday toys for the families affected by the fire and Hurricane Ida.
Every time we distribute food, our neighbors thank our volunteers for the support we provide. For everyone who has financially supported our work, please know that our neighbors are thanking you as well.
We look forward to continuing this work in 2022.
Warmest wishes for the New Year,
The Love Wins Food Pantry Family
