Supporting our neighbors harmed by the 89th Street fire
Published on April 7, 2021 by Mark Buhrmester

You have probably heard by now that there was a devastating fire at 89th Street and 34th Avenue in Jackson Heights yesterday.   All of the 133 units were damaged, and hundreds of people have been displaced.  Their lives have been uprooted.

We are doing all we can to support our neighbors, and the outpouring of support from thousands of people has been inspiring.  But there is so much more work to do.

If you want to support our neighbors harmed by the fire, please go to this GoFundMe set up to help them directly.

In the meantime, Love Wins Food Pantry will continue to provide free food to anyone who needs it every Friday at Friends Tavern, and we will continue to partner with Colectivo Intercultural TRANSgrediendo to provide food to their community every Saturday.
