Luo Community of Wellington

We are an African community in Wellington known as Luo. We do event performance and we are very proud of our culture and would not hesitate to show it off to other communities. We strive for togetherness and get involved in community creation and maintenance of our culture, and teaching young kids in New Zealand about Luo culture.

As members of a disadvantaged minority group, through our former refugees status, we are at risk of isolation and social exclusion. We formed our community group to help shape the future of our culture and get our community involved and contributing to the society we are in to help everyone.
