Link checking sounds like such a benign task, and yet we all depend on links to be working in order to navigate the internet! We built lychee because we believe the web is in danger of link rot. If we don't take action, a large portion of public knowledge is threatened to become unavailable in the future.
There are many other link checkers out there, but we found them to be lacking in speed, functionality, or maintenance. lychee is built in Rust, which makes it fast and robust. The tool supports Markdown files, HTML files, and much more. It is used by tens of thousands of repositories worldwide and by many companies.
