*ThingGrove

StarThing Groves (alternatively *Thing Groves or AnyThing Groves) are managed maker community spaces. To serve the needs of makers and encourage them to gather, talk, share, and MAKE, these spaces will be combined use facilities. To the degree desired by a specific community, a site will blend a workshop, art gallery, materials pawn shop, library, small event venue, and classroom into a single community hub. These locations are outfitted with MakUrSpace’s maker modules and additional equipment to serve as a fully functional workshop for a wide array of applications and endeavors. Further, these sites will have various places to display new works from the community, catalogue and store old works or materials available for sale, and keep material on crafting techniques. Lastly, these spaces are outfitted to host events (talks, hackathons, classes).
