Sponsors Update - March 2024
Published on April 3, 2024 by Ruth Cheesley

Hello awesome supporters of Mautic!

Can you believe that a quarter has passed already, and here we are coming into spring!

Last month was a busy one, with FOSS Backstage happening over in Berlin - a gathering of open source community managers, leaders and contributors - where I gave a talk about our changes in governance models, kicking off the celebrations for Mautic’s 10 year anniversary, and towards the end of the month launching the much awaited Mautic trials.

We’ve made some good progress in discussions with potential corporate members, with a new Gold member due to be announced early next month. We also had four new individual members join in March, which was great to see!

If you are not yet an individual and/or corporate member, please think about signing up. It will really help Mautic to continue to grow and thrive into the future.

Mautic’s 10 year anniversary

It’s really incredible to think that this time ten years ago, the world was only just finding out about Mautic!

Last month we kicked off some of our planned activities to celebrate this important milestone, including launching our design contest to create a 10-year anniversary design which will be used on swag and other promotional materials, and an interview with one of the founding engineers, Alan Hartless.

We’re working on planning various other events and celebrations during the year - if you’ve got any ideas please do get in touch via the Slack channel #wg-10-years-celebrations - we would love to hear from you!

Continued growth

I just published the latest Open Startup report which is the 12th, marking a year of making our inner workings more public in this way. I’d love to hear if there’s anything you’d like to hear more about, but the key takeaways are:

  • Fundraising is going well and we’re maintaining our budget
  • Adoption continues to rise
  • Trials have had a strong uptake in the first weeks since launch, with conversions happening already
  • Community growth continues to be strong, with new members and contributors joining every month

What’s on the horizon?

Of course the thing we’re all excited about is the 5.1 release but there’s also a lot of exciting work going on elsewhere in the project:

  • We submitted several funding proposals for NLNet - we should hear preliminary outcomes within the next week or so.

  • Google Summer of Code students have submitted their proposals - we have a strong cohort to choose from. Mentors will begin reviewing proposals and shortlisting those we wish to consider accepting. As a first-year organisation we will probably only be awarded one, possibly two projects so we have to be very picky!

  • We’ve submitted a proposal for Season of Docs where we are hoping to be able to hire two technical writers to further improve our documentation. We should hear whether we’ve been successful on 10th April.

  • The UX/UI Tiger Team are making great progress on their projects, with lots of improvements coming in the 5.1 release and more planned for the future. Shortly they will be sharing a full outline of the projects and call for your involvement in providing feedback.

  • Mautic Conference Global is on the horizon, dates will be announced imminently.

  • We’re inviting proposals for the next in-person location, typically in November. Check out the details on the nominations section of the assembly.

Thanks as always for your support of Mautic, and if you’re not yet a corporate or individual member please do think about joining up - full details can be found on our Become a Member page.
