Our group encourages people to grow food to share, using abandoned sites and unused raised beds

About

I've worked in and around Salford in North West England since 1985, so I've seen many community groups, both thriving and declining. I've never been so impressed as I am with 'Incredible Edible'. It's a global movement that started across the Pennines from us in 2007, and has always promoted strong principles and an admirable work ethic. It's all about growing food and then making it available to the public for free. It's a truly Open Source idea. I am proud to be unofficial Secretary to the group in Salford and would like to see it grow and prosper. The group is especially important right now, because it provides a chance for people to get out in the open air and sociallise while they're digging. It's a perfect antidote to Covid lockdowns.
