Nano Collective is an open-source collective building privacy-first, local-first AI tools that are open for all. Our mission is to make powerful AI more accessible, more trustworthy, and more accountable to the people who use it.

We believe AI should not be controlled only by large platforms, closed systems, or companies that can change the rules overnight. People should be able to run capable tools on their own terms, understand how those tools work, and contribute to improving them. That is why we build in the open, share our work under permissive licenses, and focus on software that gives users more control over their workflows, their data, and their long-term independence.

Nano Collective is not just about shipping software. We are building a community around a different vision for AI: one that values transparency, sustainability, collaboration, and practical usefulness over hype, lock-in, and short-term incentives.
