About

NECTAR is a shared collaborative platform & community for Minnesota-based Black creative and cultural workers and strategists to learn from one another, dream with one another, and find rest. The on/offline network was created in 2015 to cultivate and sustain meaningful connections between Black working artists and cultural strategists while elevating their practice through mentorship and skill-share. Ultimately, the platform seeks to foster solidarity across sectors and disciplines through collaborative projects, grassroots initiatives and community education that can extend opportunities for creative & cultural leadership beyond freelance labor.

Currently, we offer STUDY HALL, a peer-to-peer skill-share program for Black creative and cultural workers and strategists to get to know one another through the knowledge they hold.

We are also the host of INTERMISSION, a resource mapping project that identifies and connects Black Minnesotans to sites of rest throughout the Twin Cities and beyond. With NECTAR membership, folks can discover and access Black-led spaces for holistic wellness, creativity, and retreat designed for all Black folks, especially those of marginalized identities, seeking anti-capitalist remedies to release stress and restore energy.
