About
Hello! Welcome to our OpenCollective profile. Nheko Reborn is the overarching organization that develops and maintains several applications and libraries in the Matrix ecosystem, including nheko itself, mtxclient, and konheko. You can find our github here: https://github.com/nheko-reborn and our internal gitlab instance here: https://nheko.im/
The goal of the OpenCollective project is to help pay for administrative costs involved in developing the software. This includes things like server fees (web hosting, etc), developer fees (Apple account, signing certificates for windows, etc), and even hardware (runners for CI/CD, development devices such as pinephones, etc). Basically, the funds are intended for offsetting paying for everything on the project out of pocket.
The funds are not meant to cover the actual software development itself, as that is something we do for fun and mostly for ourselves. This means that backers won't have any additional sway over features that make it into the software or not. In the future, we also want to explore using the funds for community outreach types of things, such as nheko digital sticker pack commissions, real life nheko stickers, t-shirts, etc.
