composite_content Ruby gem initial release
Published on August 12, 2022 by Gaël-Ian
We are happy to announce the first release of a new Ruby gem of our own : composite_content.
composite_content allows Rails developers to add complex contents management to their ActiveRecord models in a controllable way. As suggested by the package name, contents are composed of blocks and the block system can be extended to integrate with the application in its whole: use the same attachments handler as in all other places (whether you prefer ActiveStorage, Shrine, Dragonfly or any other), add an interactive map from your favorite service, gracefully integrate product descriptions for your store, etc.
It has been a very long time now since this package first inception and we are happy to have been able to publish it this summer. In 6 years of existence, it's the 8th project we publish as open-source, outpassing our initial promise of at least one per year.
