Empowering Communities: From Radio operator training towards NPR Training for Emergency Communication in Chiang Rai
Published on December 15, 2024 by Watchara Amasiri

We are proud to announce the successful completion of our recent Radio Operator Training Course held in Chiang Rai. The training was attended by an enthusiastic group of community members, volunteers, and operators, all eager to enhance their emergency communication skills.

This group will form the core target audience for our upcoming New Packet Radio (NPR) Training in Chiang Rai. This initiative aims to equip local radio operators with advanced communication tools for disaster management, ensuring reliable, broadband-like radio communication networks in remote and crisis-prone areas.

The training participants included:

  • Volunteer groups active in wildfire monitoring and response.
  • Local disaster surveillance teams.
Community innovators eager to adopt NPR for emergency communications.

Next Steps:
We will soon begin the New Packet Radio Training Program as part of our broader project to promote NPR technology and knowledge transfer in Northern Thailand. The NPR initiative will empower local communities to build and sustain their communication infrastructure, enabling faster and more resilient responses to emergencies such as wildfires and natural disasters.

Thank you to all participants and supporters for making this training course a success. Stay tuned for updates as we launch the NPR sessions!
