About

Launched in 2016 following the adoption of the Bologna Open Recognition Declaration, the Open Recognition Alliance (Reconnaître - Open Recognition is the legal entity supporting the alliance) aims to contribute to the construction of an open and learning society founded on the recognition of the talents, skills, and aspirations of individuals and communities. 
 
We pursue this mission through a wide range of projects and initiatives that we initiate, promote, support, and connect at both local and international levels — fostering collaboration among educators, employers, civic actors, and policymakers. 
 
One of our main instruments is the Open Badge, a technology initially designed to make informal learning visible, and now increasingly used to make informal recognition visible. 
Because we all have the power to recognise, Open Badges offer a simple yet transformative way to build trust, strengthen communities, and create a more open and caring society.
