Open Recognition Alliance

Launched in 2016 after adopting the Bologna Open Recognition Declaration, the Open Recognition Alliance's mission is to contribute to the construction of an open and learning society based on the recognition of the talents, skills and aspirations of individuals and communities. We do so through a number of projects and initiatives we initiate, promote, support and federate at local and international levels.

One of our main instruments are Open Badges, a technology initially designed to make informal learning visible and which is increasingly used to make informal recognition visible: we all have the power to recognise, and can use it to create a more open and caring society.

One of the projects we support is ORCA (Open Recognition Community App) to explore the potential of Open Badges to harnessing citizens trust to redefine digital trust.
