About
OpenSAK — Open Source Swiss Army Knife for Geocachers
OpenSAK is a free, open-source geocache management application built as a modern, cross-platform successor to GSAK. It runs natively on Linux, Windows, and macOS, giving geocachers a powerful tool to organize, filter, and explore their caches without being tied to a single operating system.
With OpenSAK you can import Pocket Queries and GPX files, manage multiple independent databases, filter your caches with a flexible rules engine, browse an interactive map, and export directly to Garmin GPS devices — all through a clean, translated interface available in 8 languages.
OpenSAK is built entirely by volunteers in their spare time, for the love of the hobby and the community around it. Your support through Open Collective goes directly toward keeping the project sustainable: covering costs like code signing certificates for Windows and macOS (so the app installs smoothly and safely on every platform) and other infrastructure needed to keep releases flowing.
Whether you're a long-time GSAK user looking for a modern alternative, or new to organizing your geocaching adventures, OpenSAK is built for you — and built with you, through feedback, translations, and testing from our growing community.
Thank you for supporting open-source geocaching tools!
