Other America Movement

The name of the organization was derived from the powerful speech Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. gave at Stanford in 1967. In the speech, Dr. King Drew stark contrast between the lives of white and privileged Americans who live in the sunshine of opportunity, and the despair and destitution of millions of other African Americans. Unfortunately this disparity still exist today. Hyper concentrations of poverty, oppression at the hands of a militant police force, Systemic and institutionalized racism are still the reality for the other Americans who were promised life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

Our mission is to combat this oppression & despair with public works, charity & legislation to improve the lives of the marginalized population of African Americans here in this country! Join us! We can bring true change together in solidarity.
