About

Year 12 students in Takapuna Grammar School are organizing and executing a project related to pest trapping, as part of a CAS project.

CAS, which stands for Creativity, Activity, Service, is an essential component of the International Baccalaureate (IB) syllabus. Its purpose is to provide students with opportunities for personal growth, self-reflection, and engagement in various activities that extend beyond the classroom. CAS students begin projects and subsequent students maintain legacy projects, ensuring a sustained and meaningful contribution to the community itself, and to students. These traps will greatly aid in the restoration of this ecosystem and protect all the native wildlife living in the reserve.

For our project, we need funding for the following:

25 Trap Units ($19.51 ea):

Comprised:
1 x Non-target-species protection tunnel from Mens Shed East Auckland ($14.20 ea)
1 x T-Rex style trap ($5.31 ea)

Total Goal: $488
