Greetings & Salutations Leaders,  
On October 2, I’ll be participating in the YMCA's Stair Climb for Los Angeles at the LA Memorial Coliseum, and I’m asking for your help in supporting this great cause!

The Ketchum-Downtown YMCA is a place where youth and teens can learn, grow, and thrive through programs like summer camp, Teen LEAD, afterschool enrichment, youth & government, college prep, and more, and my goal is to raise funds to benefit these programs and provide scholarships for kids living in LA’s toughest neighborhoods.

A donation of $25 can provide life-saving swim lessons, and $180 can provide one month of afterschool care for a child in need.

In the words of one YMCA parent: “I can't tell you enough about how helpful the YMCA Preschool & Day Care has been to me. Since the beginning I really felt like it was home and I know my daughter felt the same way. The peace of mind I have when leaving my baby there, means everything to me, because I know that although I am away from her, she is in good hands."

Subject: YMCA Stair Climb - Your Event Essentials

Dear Anthony,
The Stair Climb is THIS SATURDAY! Read on to learn about your start time, bib pick-up, parking, and other essential information for the day of the Climb.

Your start time is 9:00-9:30am. We recommend that you arrive at the event 30 minutes ahead of your climb in order to park. If you need to adjust your start time, please email us at [email protected]. If your start time is N/A please feel free to show up anytime between 9:30-12:00 and climb with the rest of your team.

Did you know you can pick up your bib, t-shirt, and goodie bag at the Ketchum-Downtown YMCA on the day before the climb? Bib pick-up is on Friday, 10/1 from 10:30am-2:30pm (no IDs necessary). Participants are welcome to pick up these items for teammates as well, even if those teammates are not present. Validated parking ($2 for up to 3 hours) is available at the YMCA Welcome Center for the City National Parking Garage at 400 S Flower Street. You will also be able to pick up your bib, t-shirt & goodie bag at the event, as early as 7:30am.

If you are climbing virtually this year, CLICK HERE to view our Virtual Climb page! After you complete your climb, post on our Virtual Climb page with the number of steps you climbed, your time, and a photo of where you chose to climb! We also encourage you to come on the 1st to the Bib Pick-Up to grab your t-shirt and medal. If you live outside of Los Angeles and would like us to mail your t-shirt and medal, please email us at [email protected]. We can't wait to see where choose to climb this year!!

To park at the Coliseum, you will want to enter from S Figueroa Street and park in the Blue Lot (you can enter 3911 S Figueroa into your navigation system). CLICK HERE to see a map. Please note that parking rates on the 2nd are $20. If you're able, we highly recommend considering public transportation. The Coliseum is easily accessible using the Metro Expo Line at the Expo Park/USC or Expo/Vermont Stations .

We encourage you to bring your own water bottle. You will be able to carry your water bottle with you while you climb. There will be no water stations throughout the course, however, there will be water waiting for you at the finish line! Food and water bottles can also be purchased at one of the two concession stands that will be open on the day of the climb.

Participants can redeem a complimentary beverage by presenting their bib coupon at the Golden Road Brewing Beer Truck. The Beer Garden is open to non-participants, and you must be 21 years or older. You will be asked to show your ID. There will also be family-friendly activities including face painting, outdoor lawn games, giveaways and a DJ!

Participants must wear bibs on the front, outermost layer of clothing. Official results can be accessed here or with a free smart phone app. To download the app:

2) Search for "Hal Sports" and download it

If you know someone who missed the online registration date, please encourage them to visit us during Bib Pick-Up on the 1st or to head directly to the registration tables when they arrive to the Coliseum on the 2nd. We will be able to accommodate last minute additions, however, please note that the price is increased to $150 for day-of registrations.

It is incredibly important that we keep the Stair Climb safe for everyone! Masks will not be required outdoors, however, we ask all participants to practice social distancing and consider wearing a mask when they are not climbing. We will provide hand sanitizer and masks throughout the event area.
