About

What is Pixeltone.JS

Pixeltone.js is an auditory creation tool that turns your images into sounds. It is currently in active development. The basic idea is to extract each pixel's RGB value and convert it into sound frequencies.  Frequencies can be custom-mapped, giving creators more creative freedom.

Why Pixeltone.JS

If you're a curious creative mind who enjoys experimenting with image-to-audio conversion, then Pixeltone.js is the perfect tool for you.

Future Goals

There are many exciting features planned for Pixeltone.js. With your support, these features can be implemented in the future:

  • Creating images from audio: Same idea but for creating images!

  • Exploring different strategies to generate frequencies from pixels: Various calculations can be used to create samples, along with different profiles for extracting RGB values from pixels. This enables more flexible variations, catering to the needs of creative minds.

  • Enabling real-time interaction :  Imagine a video or image displayed on a canvas. With real-time interaction, a single function can trigger the conversion of the visual content into an auditory experience. This could be activated through a click event or based on visibility, depending on the assigned event.

  • Combining multiple images:  Provides an experimental playground for creators, fostering creativity and exploration.

  • Turning video frames into audio:  Yes! While it's quite challenging to implement due to the current buffer size limitations, I believe we can overcome this issue with your support and successfully turn videos into auditory experiences.
