This journal entry is different from the previous four. Today there won’t be subheadings for navigating the adventures of my inner and outer realms. Instead, I tell a farewell story of magical experiences from my life and a place I wholeheartedly call home: Mātiu Somes Island and Te Whanganui-a-Tara, the Wellington Harbour.

As I reflect on my story, I wonder if my words might be a tiny fractal of a myth that at least helps me to revive my relationships and understand where I belong. I sit with plenty of questions to contemplate, some first that come up and want to be named:
  • What does it mean to belong to a place?
  • What does it mean to call a place home?
  • What does it mean to call a place home and be a visitor to the very same land?
  • What does it feel like being a visitor to the land you call home?
  • How does feeling at home start in the inner realms?
  • How can I sustain the spark of healing and reconnecting energy within me to carry its frequency from one home to my other homes?

I don’t have any words to answer these questions (as of yet).
I have a Journal Entry that tries to speak to the energetic harmony I could feel on my last day as a ranger and first overnight stay on the island, that has given way for this flow of inquiry. β™ΎοΈβœ¨πŸŒˆ

Me mātou ki te whetu, i mua i te Kōkiri o te haere.
Before you set forth on a journey, be sure you know the stars.

In honor of All Life,
