Promenaid.org

(noun) a weekly walking raffle to help you change.

I am 40 years old and I have had the opportunity to change many times in my life. My most radical one was when a house fire destroyed all my belongings overnight. It wasn't easy, and I am now grateful to have a toolbox of knowledge on how change is important to thrive in life, specially economically.


So, how is this related to Promenaid.org?

I like walking. I like going to quiz nights. I like raffles. These three are incentives that I have used to change.

So I combined these three into a system to help people get new habits in a gamified way, that is how promenaid.org came to life by combining:

an inclusive activity (short walks)
with a game (a quiz) and
an incentive (a raffle).


Each local promenaid has its own change goal.

In Tauranga the goal is to incentivize members of the community to improve their economic situation by:

- learn to use available household resources efficiently
- ⁠plan to avoid new resource purchases
- ⁠get information on how to decrease future expenses

Funds received will be allocated the next way every month:
- 50% to the incentive prize
- 12% to operating costs
- 8% to the Gift Collective fee
- 30% to a charity dedicated in ending poverty (tbd, to be chosen per city).
