About
Quote.Vote is an open-source civic platform designed to support structured text deliberation, transparent moderation, and democratic decision-making. The project combines a minimalist, text-first communication model with a quote-level voting mechanism that captures precise community sentiment. Its design, documented in the core product specifications and campus pilot proposal, emphasizes clarity, accountability, and deliberation over algorithmic amplification.
The platform currently has more than 45 global contributors and a growing GitHub monorepo focused on React, GraphQL, Python, and mobile clients. During Hacktoberfest 2025, the community gained significant traction, contributing new features such as sentiment mapping, moderation workflows, and Next.js migration planning. We maintain AGPL-3.0-or-later licensing to ensure durable openness and create trust for institutions that deploy their own instances.
