Solidarity Fund Grassroots Hub Lebanon

Support ARD to launch a grassroots hub in the mountains of Lebanon. Communities across the Middle East have faced decades of cultural erasure, political power grabs and extraction of resources. In particular, people in Lebanon are facing ongoing imperial threat and attacks from Israel, alongside sectarian conflicts and economic collapse from within. Systems of power, on both the international and national levels, take power away from the people in the name of capital. In the face of these problems, grassroots organising is necessary. ARD is a grassroots movement resisting systems of power and fighting for decentralisation across the Middle East, to bring resources and agency back into the hands of the people. For people to gain power, they need spaces to meet. ARD is aiming to transform an old metal factory in the mountains of Lebanon into a hub for dialogue and action. The space will host events focused on decentralisation and capacity building for communities. It will include a workspace for organisers and a not-for-profit cafe and bar serving community meals with local, seasonal produce.

To launch the hub space ARD is running a grassroots gathering and DIY film festival on the 23rd August 2025. ARD needs £3000 to start basic renovation work on the metal factory space and cover core costs for this opening event.

Building international solidarity is central to ARD's work and you will be able to visit and organise within the space once it is ready and open to the public. The film festival is an open event and anyone is welcome. If you would like more details please email [email protected].
