Climate Resilience Fund Raffle

PROJECT

All proceeds will go towards disaster preparedness projects + programs, homeless outreach, and more!

About

As an organization that was on the ground during the 2021 Kentucky Tornadoes (raising over $9,000 for impacted families and distributing $30,000 in disaster supplies), we see role that mutual aid plays when it comes to filling the gaps left behind by systemic powers. After doing some door-knocking throughout the year, some of the most frequent sentiments regarding the city's response was that our neighbors felt a sense of abandonment by local + statewide powers (ie: lack of equitable access to emergency funding, unaffordable housing + price gouging, and that they weren't prepared in case another disaster were to strike our community again. As climate change accelerates and weather becomes more extreme, we want to be proactive, not reactive. We are devoted to developing community infrastructure that helps to build disaster preparedness skills + pools together the resources that meet the needs of vulnerable frontline and fence- line  (those living near or exposed to environmental hazards) communities for the long-term.

Our Climate Resilience Fund will be going towards projects/programs such as:
- Providing care packages + season-appropriate gear to our homeless community (in case you didn't know, homelessness is a climate justice issue!)
- Disaster kits/Go- bags
- Climate survival education + skill sharing
