About

For this month's Justice Initatives family support workshop we are partnering with Roots Unbound to explore, highlight, and celebrate gardens and farms in the Brooklyn area who are focused on growing food and fostering community–even during the coldest winter months.

We invite participants to hop in the Roots Unbound virtual tour bus and travel around Brooklyn to stop by some gardens in our own neighborhoods. After our tour, Roots Unbound will guide us through a hands-on activities where participants will learn how to grow food by reusing kitchen scraps. We can chat about what's going on in our own communities and how we can help each other plant new seeds and grow into our own this spring.

This will be hosted on February 17th, 2021 at 1:00pm on Zoom -- please register and we will send out the zoom link when the event gets near.

Materials needed for the activity:

-Food scraps like Chives, Celery, Romaine Lettuce, Onions, and Garlic

-Cup of water
