What's Up with San Antonio Review
Published on January 11, 2024 by William Pate
Friends,
It's been a while since we updated you, so let's dig in:
In 2023, we published 239 works of poetry, art, fiction, non-fiction, reviews and flash fiction at www.sareview.org.
All financial contributions continue to go toward maintaining our existence, which includes the monthly fees for using PubPub, submission platform fees and the like.
One of our biggest challenges is finding devoted editors to run the journal. That's why I'm happy to announce that our former poetry editor, Arvilla Fee, has been with us for over a year! She's also taken on the role of Managing Editor, as she does a lot of the behind-the-scenes work. I retain the role of Founding Editor and Publisher (meaning, I pay for most of the costs our fundraising doesn't yet cover), but Arvilla is doing the vast majority of reviewing, publishing and soliciting. Yolanda Pena Wright has taken over our social media posting and aids Arvilla in reviewing and soliciting new works.
We look forward to continuing to bring you freely accessible literature, art and ideas in 2024. Please consider contributing your work or money to keep us going.
Feliz ano!
William
