Intro

For those who don't know me, my name is Ikey Doherty, and I'm the "BDFL" for Serpent OS. That means that I've made Serpent OS my life's work and will always be the maintainer, working on new features, bugfixes and generally innovating for a more stable platform.

Roughly 2 years ago my family and I were forced to move back to the UK after a medical emergency. Horrific though the experience was, the lack of care and support we found upon moving was far worse. Since then we've been stuck here looking for a way back - as we've been residing in a designated Traveller Site in the South East of England. Instead of being helpful to us, we instead live under CCTV, barbed gates and complete social isolation. Needless to say, without focusing too much on the negatives, our best interests as a family are served by getting into appropriate accommodation back home to focus on our collective future (with which the project is entwined)

Purpose

This project serves as somewhat of a collection pot to allow me to contribute towards my own future - i.e. relocation back to Ireland. I'm not expecting anyone else to chip in, but if you feel so inclined please do drop me a line :)

Goals

Relocate back to Ireland to incorporate Serpent OS as a legal entity, governed under an open charter. This will not only ensure my tax status on return, but afford longevity for the project and reduce associated fees.

Timescale

Approx. 12-18 months as the high estimate as the introduction of newly built and in progress housing estates ensures that this site, like so many before it, will be closed.
