Shed 752
Fiscal Host: The Social Change Nest
Shed 752 is a cultural hub uniting disabled, queer, and neurodivergent communities in Plymouth.
About
Shed 752 is a cultural hub uniting disabled, queer, and neurodivergent communities in Plymouth. Its reputation for fostering belonging attracts individuals seeking a safe space to explore their identities.
Building on this success, the project will establish two additional monthly program:
- Queer Out Loud—performance nights creating a platform for queer voices and shared experiences.
- Disability Enabling Network—a social group to enhance accessibility in Plymouth through advocacy, resources, and mapping community needs.
NeuDICE Living Lab has already demonstrated impact by helping neurodivergent individuals redefine employment and business opportunities to fit their unique needs. Attendees consistently report reduced social anxiety and increased confidence.
This funding will enable the collective to:
- Expand disability support with community-driven solutions.
- Provide practical resources like mobility aids and sensory tools.
- Bridge gaps in Plymouth’s current disability support, much of which is limited to children or benefits claimants.
By addressing systemic barriers, we aim to shift perceptions of disability, foster inclusion, and build a more accessible city for all.
