About

We are based in a small town called Whitby. My son has been desperate to join a local football team for a while. Unfortunately only one club in the Whitby area has teams set up and all the teams are at full capacity. This means that lots of children in the Whitby area are missing out on playing in grassroot football teams. I started taking my son to a football group in a small village called Sleights, just on the outskirts of Whitby.  It was here where I got discussing his ambition to play in a team. They encouraged me to set up a Sleights FC under 10s football team which has given my son, plus 9 other keen young footballers the change to play in a team and in the local league. I have already managed to source a shirt sponsor and a sponsor for equipment such as balls, bags and waterbottles for the children.
The league matches will be played every Sunday mornings. At the home matches, we plan on running a tea stall to make funds to go into the club pot. We also plan on numerous fundraising activities such as gala days and quiz nights to make money for the teams funds.
