About
We live in a small town called Whitby. There
is currently one group of grass roots
football teams with lots of different teams at
various ages, unfortunately all those teams
are full, so children who are wanting to play in
a team at grassroots level are unable to as
teams are already established and full to capacity.
At Sleights (small village outside of Whitby)
we are setting up more teams to allow more
opportunities for children. We intend to have
community events, such as gala days and
quiz nights as well as other fundraising
activities to promote the importance of
grassroot football and give all children in the
area the chance to join a team. These events
will be good for the community and young children, building a collaborative and inclusive ethos for all those involved. We have the support of one local sponsor who was thrilled to be part of a new, exciting and young venture. All those involved in the team are volunteers who are not only passionate about football but are committed to serving the community and hopefully offering young children new opportunities.
