Connecting Tulse Hill (SMETRA & High Trees Development Trust)

SMETRA were successful in applying for a grant of £3,000 to provide lap tops on loan to 17 young people and their families on St Matthews Estate as part of the connecting Tulse Hill project with High Trees Development Trust and others. This was for families who did not have on-line access through a lap top or computer. If you would like to make a contribution so that more families in need will have access to the internet then please make a donation now. Thank you!

The lack of internet access for young people on some of our estates in Tulse Hill were disproportionate in comparison with more affluent families. Young people during the Covid-19 pandemic were unable to study appropriately and were hindered by not having access lessons, which potentially widened the gap in their learning. The Lambeth Fund is one of many ways that lambeth Council seeks to support communities to meet the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic. SMETRA worked in partnership with the Connecting Tulse Hill project which was created by High Trees Development Trust and who worked along with other partners to secure funds so that young people and their families who did not have access to the internet through use of a  lap top or desk top computer. SMTRA was successful in raising £3000 towards this project and we hope to double this amount with your kind donations so that we cn support more families in need.
