About

Playlab is an expansive ground for practicing being good community members.  Our games are for enlivening and fortifying the spirit, becoming fluent in embodied expression, working in an ensemble, and letting our liberation be playful.   Our ritual arc includes honoring Black feminist play ancestors, solo exploration, ensemble work, and dedicating our play to those who need it most.  We use various somatics, improv, and applied theater gaymes to investigate a research question like: “what makes it hard for me to give and receive care?” or “how do I divest from capitalism?” or to explore general topics through our embodiment.  Past themes have included love, power, projections, consent, needs, and water.

Who this workshop is for: This workshop centers QTBIPOC people and is intended for intergenerational participants.
