About

Tales to Live By - Stepping into the stories that gather and guide us is a new city-wide project in Plymouth funded by POP. Whilst the overarching objective of this project and its associated funding is about making work that is 'suicide preventative', we are intentionally reframing and presenting it as a community wellness project that welcomes people from all walks of life. Within this approach, our aim is to facilitate a programme of talks, workshops, events, and performances between Nov 2022 - July 2023, bringing together intergenerational participants and audiences to explore personal challenges through the lens of traditional myth and archetype - discovering what stories we need to support us in these uncertain times, so that we can create more positive outcomes for ourselves, both individually and collectively. In particular, we'll be exploring how traditional stories resonate with our contemporary lives, what life lessons they can pass onto us, and how working with stories 'at one step removed' can offer valuable and surprising insights into our lived experience.
