Accounting Status for tax season
Published on February 15, 2023 by Vincent Tang
Hey y'all
We're meeting with our CPA to go over how we're handling taxes to the IRS for this year's tax season. That deadline is around May 5th so we're prioritizing getting this done as soon as possible
This involves tracking all the receipts since we've started Tampa Devs (which is a lot of work to compile). We used just some downloaded bank statements to help organize and compile it, luckily all of our expenditures past October 2022 last year were strictly through 1 bank account / credit card so this isn't too bad
We have to do a reimbursement statement form as well for transacations starting from Sept 2021 to October 2022 as well
We're going to learn more about opencollective as an accounting toolset in place of something like QuickBooks online.
