Exploring Tea Ceremony with Leaf & Buds: History, Culture, and Brewing Techniques

As a part of Draig Feast's workshop, hosted by Leaf & Buds, join us for an immersive tea-tasting experience that delves into the history, cultural significance, and art of tea preparation. Whether you're a seasoned tea enthusiast or new to the world of tea, this offers something for everyone.
To enhance your experience, the tea ceremony at Draig FEAST requires an RSVP! The same session will be held three times, each accommodating a group of six participants. Spaces are limited, on 18 availability, so be sure to RSVP now before all the slots are filled!

What to Expect:
- Introduction to Tea: Start with a discussion exploring what tea is, its rich history, and its cultural importance across the globe.
- Green Tea Tasting: Enjoy a freshly brewed green tea prepared by our host, setting the stage for an engaging tea experience.
- Shou Puer Brewing: Learn to brew shou puer tea using traditional methods. Participants will pair off to use a gaiwan (traditional Chinese tea-brewing vessel) to brew tea for one another. With 6 participants per session, 3 tea sets will be provided, ensuring an intimate and hands-on experience. Each participant will have the opportunity to brew two infusions, swapping roles to refine their skills.
- Cold-Brew Tea for the Feast: Complementing the main sessions, enjoy a selection of cold-brew teas prepared ahead of time. Perfectly paired with the eventās offerings, these teas will be available for self-service throughout the feast. An information sheet will accompany the cold-brews to enrich your tasting experience.
This immersive experience connects you to the world of tea: starting with laying a foundation in your brewing skills, and then opening up your palate to the diverse flavours each type of tea has to offer!Ā
