Tha Block intends to educate and entertain through work that reflects its commitment to community healing. Tha Block is devoted to social justice in the community, self-sufficiency, equality before the law, social and cultural rights, the right to food, work, health, and the right to education.
Our 3 core objectives are:
- To provide a creative atmosphere for Trenton Natives to build skillset
- To provide a space of comfort, healing, and community building in Trenton
- To be recognized as a significant cultural asset by the local community.
Tha Block Trenton is a 501c3 organization led by a collective of Trentonian artists who are passionate about the revitalization of the city. This collective of artists witnessed the rise and fall of the 219 eras of arts in Trenton where the community practiced healing collectively using art. This example of what art can do for the community helped influence their vision for Tha Block. Moving forward, Tha Block Trenton will continue to seek funding and spaces to provide education, healing, food justice, and health-related support consistently.
