Pathway to Pro Showcase Trial Proposal

Overview
Pathway to Pro is an open-conversation platform and talent development initiative focused on fostering accessible opportunities in football. We are planning a two-day Showcase Trial in Barking & Dagenham, inviting players aged 9-16 to perform in front of professional scouts and gain access to Finesse Sport, a leading academy in the borough. This initiative aligns with our mission to provide opportunities for young aspiring footballers to showcase their talents and pursue pathways to professional development in football.

We are requesting £800 in funding to support the costs of this showcase, which includes venue hire, facilitator fees, and essential equipment. This initiative will directly benefit local youth by breaking barriers to participation and offering them an inclusive platform to advance their football careers.

Alignment with the Legacy Asset Fund’s Values

Accessible Participation Opportunities
The Showcase Trial will provide accessible participation for all players, regardless of their background, offering them a unique chance to interact with scouts and professional coaches from Finesse Sport. By providing this opportunity at no cost to participants, we ensure inclusivity and equity in accessing professional pathways in football.

Strengthening Community Connections
The event will foster relationships between players, their families, scouts, and coaches, creating a community of shared learning and development. It will also enhance Pathway to Pro’s collaboration with local stakeholders such as Finesse Sport, contributing to a stronger, interconnected network within Barking & Dagenham.

Upskilling and Development
The trial will not only give participants the chance to showcase their talents but will also include skill-building sessions conducted by professional coaches. These sessions will provide valuable feedback and guidance, fostering the participants’ growth both on and off the pitch.
