Trees and Tree Care Workshops

We gift and plant trees suitable for the terrain as advised by our expert local partners in the communities we visit.   We deliver workshops inspired by our film, the Rwenzori Rainmakers produced by Films for Change.  Our workshops demonstrate planting and aftercare of indigenous trees to maximise tree survival.  We do not encourage bark harvesting, but medicinal bark use is very common and few people are trained in safe, sustainable methods. Widespread stripping of bark causes trees to die, so our medicinal tree care workshops delivered by our expert practitioner from PAFCCI aims to reduce harmful practices.  We have had 500 medicinal trees gifted so far for this impact.

Our indigenous trees are sourced from The Rwenzori Founders, PAFCCI (People and Forest Community Conservation Initiative), and Toro Botanical Gardens.

Tree Care Workshops require US $539.00 / EURO 474.32 / UGX 2,014,706.54 per workshop
Tree planting & Monitoring intiatives require $1155.00 / EURO 1,016.40 / UGX 4,317,228.30 per 200 saplings per initiative.
We hope to complete 5 Tree Workshops and 2 Tree Planting initiatives in the Kasese area.
