In 2024, The Xylom significantly invested in our visual journalism, bringing on Kang-Chun Cheng as our first Editor-at-Large. 

Together with our freelance photographers, our team stepped foot in 15 countries and regions: From the second-highest peak in Africa to where the ocean is swallowing up Java, Indonesia, we are here to report on the intersection of science and society with a distinctly Asian American sensibility.
