Last call for year-end giving

Here at The Xylom, we work hard every day to earn and maintain your trust, and we know that a strong democracy depends on our type of in-depth coverage. Thank you for believing in this work and supporting us in our endeavors.
We want to deliver even more high-impact reporting in 2025, and we have several projects we’re looking forward to making a reality in the new year. Here’s a sneak peek:
- We’re continuing to investigate how the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority fails to maintain its human and climate infrastructure, leading to one of the nation’s worst rider recovery rates.
- We’re looking into the Wild “East” of Traditional Chinese Medicine: how Asian Americans access it, where the current regulatory landscape stands, and how the practice might go mainstream with health and insurance providers
- We had to postpone our coverage of a threatened rare plant in Western North Carolina due to Hurricane Helene's devastation, but I promise you will read more about it!
- Ditto with our feature on the crude oil exporting industry in South Texas; we are recalibrating the story with a co-publishing partner!
- We're doing our first site upgrade since 2018!
We’re pleased to share that 56 new donors have joined us and you during our year-end campaign. We would love to build on this momentum before 2024 comes to a close.
If you can go above and beyond with an additional gift before midnight, you will help us start 2025 off right — and be able to deliver more of the truth-seeking and transparent reporting that we’ll all need in the new year.
Democracy needs news. News needs you. What do you say?
Yes, I'll chip in!
Thank you so much!
