I have recently been contacted about attending my vaginoplasty surgery on the 28th of June. I am currently working full-tim in a seasonal role, but once I have my surgery, I will not be able to work throughout my recovery. I will also be attending University for the first time in September, though I have to start paying for my accomodation from July. A bit about me, I'm 23 years old, but have lived indepenedntly from my family since 2019 - where I moved into a hostel for young people - I now have my own place and live independently - but due to the fact that I have no familial support, my job is my only source of income and I rely on it to pay my rent, bills and soon enough pay for my rented accomodation at university.
The notice for my surgery is very short, due to a cancellation, but I fear that if I had turned this down, I may have had to wait ages for another opportunity, which is why I am requesting help from you.
I am requesting the sum of £2000, as this will help to cover the costs of my monthly rent at my current property (£395pcm) until September along with my rent for my university accomadation (breakdown of costs attached)
Thank you,
Ashley Rose

We accept claims for the cost of medications, food, transport to appointments, counselling and anything related to your transition. We also support trans, nonbinary, and intersex (TIN) folk with bills and living expenses. We do not currently accept claims for money for pet expenses.
If you are applying for the first time, please provide the first half of your postcode and a link to one of your social media accounts in the "additional invoice information" box. This is to verify your identity and prevent scammers from taking money from trans people.
Please also let us know how much you need (max. £60 per month) and what you need it for (eg. bills, food, debt etc etc) in the "additional invoice information" box.
We don't allow reoccurring grants set through open collective, we ask that you don't set your grant to reoccur automatically as it adds strain to our grant team and can create duplicate expenses.
