Hello!

I have been receiving the monthly grant for the last 2 months due to financial difficulties. I have been reading up about your different types of grants such as post-surgery and gofundme’s and noticed the emergency fund grant.

I have often found it hard to reach out for help. Asking for the grant these last couple of months has been a big change for me (and very difficult to do) so it’s taken me a lot to admit I really need help. I lost my job and still haven’t found work. To add insult to injury I have been asked by UKGOV to repay a universal credit loan I took out last year. This is because I couldn’t pay back with my monthly credit due to them not being able to confirm my address (I live in shared accommodation under a private company). Seeing that letter requesting £260 back has almost killed me. I’ve been attempting to sell clothing online but it’s barely making a dent.

I don’t know how much the allowance goes. I’m putting 260 purely because that’s what I’ve been billed. I 100% understand this could be too large of an amount, and will be forever grateful for the amount you may be able to provide.

Thank you as always for everything you do,

E

Expense policies
We accept claims for the cost of medications, food, transport to appointments, counselling and anything related to your transition. We also support trans, nonbinary, and intersex (TIN) folk with bills and living expenses. We do not currently accept claims for money for pet expenses.

If you are applying for the first time, please provide the first half of your postcode and a link to one of your social media accounts in the "additional invoice information" box. This is to verify your identity and prevent scammers from taking money from trans people.

Please also let us know how much you need (max. £60 per month) and what you need it for (eg. bills, food, debt etc etc) in the "additional invoice information" box.

We don't allow reoccurring grants set through open collective, we ask that you don't set your grant to reoccur automatically as it adds strain to our grant team and can create duplicate expenses.

For our full policy, please read the below document for full requirements when submitting for funding. https://transaid.cymru/types-of-grants/
