Im trying to become more comfortable with my body as a non-binary person, as well as improve my overall general physical health through ED recovery intensive therapy. The service I am with is called EDSOTT.

Purchasing food is an expense I haven't had in a long time as I have had an eating disorder for about 4-5 years now. I'm struggling financially in general at the moment due to student finance not providing much help as my family income is quite high, but my family refuse and have refused for the entirety of my time at uni to help in any way.

I really don't want to waste this opportunity as I've been waiting on a waiting list for almost a year and I am so desperate to feel healthy and more comfortable in my body again. I've been punishing my body for not being the way I would like for it to be for long enough now and I want to learn to treat it with respect and kindness again. I'm applying for a grant to help with the purchases of scales (which are required by the program im doing to monitor progress) as well as to help towards food expenses as I begin to do my first ever food shop in a long while and start ED recovery. I'd appreciate the support with this huge step in my life. Thank you :)

Expense policies
We accept claims for the cost of medications, food, transport to appointments, counselling and anything related to your transition. We also support trans, nonbinary, and intersex (TIN) folk with bills and living expenses. We do not currently accept claims for money for pet expenses.

If you are applying for the first time, please provide the first half of your postcode and a link to one of your social media accounts in the "additional invoice information" box. This is to verify your identity and prevent scammers from taking money from trans people.

Please also let us know how much you need (max. £60 per month) and what you need it for (eg. bills, food, debt etc etc) in the "additional invoice information" box.

We don't allow reoccurring grants set through open collective, we ask that you don't set your grant to reoccur automatically as it adds strain to our grant team and can create duplicate expenses.

For our full policy, please read the below document for full requirements when submitting for funding. https://transaid.cymru/types-of-grants/
