Happy New Year! Let's talk about 2022!
Published on January 10, 2023 by Keira Evans

Happy new year, everyone! 2022 has been a wild one for us, and as always incredibly busy. We wanted to celebrate our achievements, and talk about our goals for the next year!

Our grants have been our biggest expense this year, with 82.50% of our budget being spent on them! We’re really pleased with this, because as a mutual aid we always aim to redistribute funds and make sure the Welsh community is cared for. We’re resuming our normal grant schedule from the 15th of January.

Of course, none of these grants would be possible without our amazing donors and fundraisers! We were blown away by the amount of fundraisers in December and wanted to take a moment to thank

South Wales Gay Men's Chorus, who raised money while carolling throughout the holidays!
Queerdos
Rainbow & Co
Alice Evans, with her 12 Gays of Christmas!
Queer Little Shop
Everyone who took part in Resonant Cymru
Doe and Wolf for their raffle donation!
As well as all our wonderful monthly contributors and those who made one-off contributions!

At the end of the year, we also said goodbye to one of our co-founders, Rudy! He’s been a driving force within TAC since 2020 and has done so much to advocate and help improve the lives of trans, intersex, and nonbinary people in Wales. We’re going to miss his presence on the team greatly, and are endlessly thankful to him for the work he has done. Please join us in sending him thanks and rest!

In December, we also had our AGM where we reflected on all the work we’d done, and focused on what we wanted to do in 2023. The consensus was that mutual aid is going to be our strongest focus, as we want to help skill up trans people across Wales to help advocate for themselves and others. We’ll be thinking about this as we plan our future events, projects and collaborations!
