Hi all! We thought we’d give you an update on what we’ve been up to this month! We received £960 from 40 backers and we spent £725. Our current balance is £2,924.

We’ve been busy this month having held three workshops! These workshops are made for trans people by trans people. Our workshops we’re kicked off by Ruth and Leo who held their Big Queer Quiz with us! It was great fun with everyone learning more about LGBTQ+ history, and the winner received a £25 voucher for Etsy!

Our second workshop was with Keira and Shash with their Trans Life Drawing! Shash bravely stripped down and posed for everyone to draw, it was a great chance for artists to remember that trans bodies exist and need to be represented! There was some amazing artwork made and you can see those on our twitter. This workshop will be back again in March with a different trans model so keep your eye out on social media to catch tickets for it!

Finally, we had Rudy hosting a trans reading group! The group read the playscript of Travis Alabanza’s new play, Overflow. Everyone received a free copy of the script and discussed the themes of the work. We even had Travis pop in at the end for a Q&A with the reading group!

If you are trans and think you’ve missed out, worry not! We’ll be announcing more workshops very soon on our social media so keep an eye out for them! All these workshops were funded by Comic Relief's LGBTQ+ COVID-19 Recovery Fund, in partnership with METRO Charity and Umbrella Cymru.

We helped distribute funds to those in the trans community with 5 people receiving £25 each! This has helped cover bills, food, and help out when government payments have been delayed.

Finally, we have been sending out valentines’ cards to trans folk during this holiday! These cards come with their chosen names and is a nice little way to brighten up what can be a lonely time for some.
