UN[PARA]LD
UN[PARA]LD is a community-led project challenging exclusion in the outdoors. We work with disabled people, families, designers, and makers to share knowledge and create open guides that help adapt outdoor clothing and make access possible.

About
“When I became disabled, I realised just how little the outdoor industry had considered people like me,” says Sainsbury. “Clothing that doesn’t work for your body stops you from taking part. You’re not choosing to opt out - you’re being excluded.”

Through funded focus groups, research sessions, and practical experimentation, we bring together disabled people, athletes, designers, makers, and repairers to explore how existing outdoor clothing can be adapted to work better for disabled bodies. What we learn is documented and shared openly through guides and resources, so others can build on what works rather than starting from scratch.
UN [ PARA ] LD is an open project and it needs more voices, experiences and skills.
We’re inviting the following:
- Disabled people who spend time outdoors (or want to)
- Athletes and outdoor enthusiasts
- Designers, makers and repairers
- Allies who care about access and inclusion
