About

We Distribute is an independent news organization that started out on the Fediverse. Over the years, we've covered the growth and development of an elaborate social sphere, where millions of people have created their own technology, culture, and media.

We're looking into the start of 2024 with a new mission: to expand from a small-scale effort to a dedicated organization with a staff, writers, and producers to create high-quality content for the decentralized social web. We intend to expand our scope to include other nascent efforts to build decentralized social, such as Bluesky, Nostr, and Secure Scuttlebutt, and we hope to dig deeper on smaller, more personal stories as well as the big-picture-stuff that's going on.
